I can't say enough good things about the Budding Belly team! Ildi and Sam helped me to feel so supported and confident at what would have been a very overwhelming time. They equipped me with the tools and knowledge I needed to advocate for myself and get the natural (no induction, but with epidural) birth that I was hoping for. By following their guidance I was able to; create a birth plan, naturally induce labor the week before my due date, labor at home for the majority of my 23hr labor, have minimal tearing even with a 9lb baby, bring colostrum to the hospital so my baby had food as soon as he was born, get baby to latch immediately following birth leading to my milk coming in within 3 days postnatal, reduce baby's slightly high bilirubin level within the week following baby's birth, reduce pain from best feeding and ease questions around latch/feeding/positioning for feeds, use my pump, use my wrap carrier, and confidently bathe my baby. During the birth, Ildi was an amazing advocate for me with the doctors. She made sure the epidural was working correctly and when I was still in pain she made sure I was attended to immediately. When an alarm went off, she guided the med student on how to fix the problem. When a frightening number of doctors came in, she calmly explained what was happening. Her techniques made the very painful contractions much more bearable and her knowledge eased my concerns as things intensified.
My husband and I often say we don't actually understand how we would have done it without them. Before, during, and after the birth of our baby we felt like we were able to cut through all of the Internet noise and get clear answers to both questions we had and ones we didn't even think of. We love this team and can't recommend them enough.
