I am so glad I had Dasha as my doula and would recommend her to anyone who wants to feel supported and informed for their birth. I contacted her less than a month before my due date, as it was a last-minute decision for me to hire a doula. She fit three long meetings with me and my husband into her schedule right away to give us concise but comprehensive guides to our upcoming birth. She also accompanied me to an ob appointment as I was unsure whether to take my ob's recommendations about if and when to induce, and it was so helpful and comforting to have her there as I navigated that decision and conversation. I also texted her a bunch of questions that she answered right away as the birth day drew closer. It's clear to me that Dasha is very knowledgeable and passionate about supporting families through the birthing process.
Regarding the actual birth day, my experience was unusual because after my water broke I experienced a rare medical emergency and don't remember much of the following few days. Dasha was so helpful to me and my husband when I had an emergency C-section and was in the ICU for a few days. We couldn't list everything she did, but most notably she took care of our newborn when my husband was with me, helped guide us through everything, knew the NICU nurses who were assigned to our baby and put us at ease with that experience, and gave me incredible peace of mind when talking us through what happened and why in ways the (amazing) hospital staff were not best suited for. She visited us in the hospital a week later as well, helping us with breastfeeding, and reached out to check in with me several times after that. Thanks Dasha from the bottom of my heart for helping our family!
