We brought Sam and Ildi in to help in the postpartum period with both of my boys. The first time around, Sam handled overnights and Ildi came to help out during the day. The second time, they both switched off providing daytime help. I could not be more grateful to them, or sing their praises more loudly. Both Sam and Ildi have a knack for anticipating your needs without your having to verbalize them, which is a true gift during those wild first days postpartum. They're so natural with babies and their advice on everything from breastfeeding to the management of big new sibling emotions was so helpful. I wouldn't have been able to get past those first painful days of nursing without them, and their presence was a welcome balm. The snacks and meals they provided were also filling and nutritious, as well as absolutely delicious. They made the whole rollercoaster of early postpartum bearable!
