Susannah is a wonderful doula. She's knowledgeable, kind, compassionate and dedicated to her clients. She made my husband and me feel very at ease starting on our first intro call, so we knew it was a good fit.
Susannah made the time to get to know both of us--our preferences, concerns, personalities, etc.--and was available for any questions or concerns throughout my pregnancy. This rapport created a strong bond and trust that was critical during labor and delivery.
My birth experience took some twists and turns, and Susannah was there for both of us throughout. She never spoke for us, or made decisions for us, but instead helped us calmly think through our options, decisions and next steps (which admittedly is very difficult during contractions!). She providence guidance and insight, but never told us what to do, or made us feel like we were supposed to handle situations in any particular way. We felt supported in our decisions, and Susannah advocated for us throughout labor and delivery. Susannah went home to rest while I labored overnight, but was available via text and phone throughout--whenever I woke up, we'd check in and she'd respond instantly as if she were still right there with us--and she came back to the hospital first thing in the morning.
I can't imagine my birth experience without Susannah. I ultimately had a c-section, and she was right there with me and my husband, holding my hand and helping me through. I can't recommend her enough! Thank you Susannah <3
