Testimonial for Heather Rogers BSc, BEd, CLD(DSC), LCCE, CLE, PD, SBD

Hiring a doula for my third child was a last minute decision. I knew I wanted a hospital birth with epidural and I had positive previous labour experiences, but my friend (a L&D nurse) raved about Heather. Knowing this was my last child, I thought having additional emotional support would make this last experience that much more special. I am SO glad I did.

Immediately upon meeting Heather and Michelle, I felt so comforted. Their warmth and energy was calming and empowering. They are experts at supporting what you want/need and understanding the emotional aspects of pregnancy and welcoming a new child to the world. I found texting them in early labour helpful and encouraging and when I was ready to go to the hospital Heather was there so quickly!

I find comfort in the hospital environment and I wanted the medical care/team to be involved. Heather is a star at engaging and collaborating with the medical team. She was supportive, had amazing ideas for labour even with an epidural, and made sure I was comfortable at all times. She took photos we have never had with any of our other kids and she allowed my husband to be more present than he had ever been previously. He said he felt much less stressed having her there.

After the birth, when Heather had gone home, I had at least 3 nurses comment on how amazing Heather was and how much they enjoyed working with her.

I wish I could go back in time and have Heather present for my other children’s births. It made the experience of bringing my last child into the world all that much sweeter and I’m so glad that I will always remember feeling supported, cared for, and peaceful in those moments. While my experience giving birth was with Heather, I feel that my experience with Michelle would have been equally as amazing. I couldn’t recommend Heather and Michelle more.
