We are so grateful to have found Danae to guide us in our journey in becoming a family of three. Even though we had taken pregnancy and birth classes, Danae still brought new insights and continued our education about the birth process. Where Danae really stands out is in helping to think through every scenario in order to both mentally and emotionally prepare for birth.
During actual labor, Danae’s guidance through each contraction seemed to ease the pain with her words of guidance and meditation. And she helped us achieve one of our goals of having my husband be an integral part of supporting me through labor. Danae was not only a support to me, but she was equally there for my husband every step of the way.
Although our birth did not go according to our plan, Danae helped us feel more confident in the changes, and she helped me think through my options clearly so I could best advocate for myself and my family. She made sure to be in the delivery room during my c-section, making a very scary experience less scary. Her tools, such as breathing techniques and playing familiar music, helped me get through that very difficult time. And having her by my side meant that my husband could go immediately to be with our baby. Somehow, Danae even managed to snap some very meaningful photos of the three of us during that time!
We have been so fortunate to also have Danae support us postpartum as we adjusted to our new life. My goal has been to breastfeed our baby, and I guarantee I would not be where I am, now confidently breastfeeding, without her guidance, patience, and support. We had some struggles and anxiety surrounding feeding, but Danae was integral to getting us through those hard times, and offered us techniques as well as a kind ear when we needed it on our breastfeeding journey.
We cannot imagine having gone through this without Danae. We can’t wait to have another baby so that we can work with Danae again!
