Haley Claxton is an incredible woman. Words fall short in expressing how grateful I am to have had her as my doula. When I chose Haley for our birth team, what struck me as most important was her experience as a doula, her expertise as a mom of three (soon to be four!), her faith in the Lord, and her calming demeanor. During our prenatal appointments, Haley took the time to learn more about my husband and me and the kind of birth experience I wanted. She helped me to prepare for labor and birth through breathing techniques and helped me and my husband learn stretches to prepare my body. And Haley was available to answer any questions I had during the months leading up to birth.
The way that Haley shows up for women during labor and birth will forever be etched in my mind. She is extremely passionate about providing the best support and I will always remember how she fully showed up for me. From the moment she arrived at the birth center, she was ON! She knew exactly what I needed to keep me fueled, keep me breathing and staying in a relaxed frame of mind, and to keep my labor progressing. Haley's voice reminded me to stay connected to my breath during each contraction. She helped protect our birth space by praying for us during our labor and she captured moments via photo and video that I will be able to cherish forever. After our baby’s birth Haley was by my side while I was getting stitched up, as my husband was holding our little love. This was one of the moments that I definitely needed more support and she was right there holding my hand! I am forever grateful for Haley and we will have her as our doula again for our future babies!
