Jasmine was everything I could have hoped for in a doula and more. She is warm and caring, professional, and deeply knowledgeable. She listened to our stories, hopes, and concerns and balanced asking our opinions with sharing her own wisdom. I didn't know what kind of labor practices I would want to experiment with in the moment, only that I was firmly committed to a physiological/unmedicated birth if circumstances allowed, and Jasmine was amazing at guiding me through 47 hours of labor and a wide variety of positions and techniques resulting in a healthy natural birth. She offered encouragement, support, and deep feeling of trust - I felt like I could surrender to the magic of the birthing process because I had complete faith that she could guide me through. My husband and mom and midwives were all wonderful, and Jasmine was the rock who was solid underneath it all. She was totally calm and grounded, providing a steady presence when I needed to count breaths or slow down or ask "what should I try next?" She has an incredible instinct for knowing exactly what is most helpful in any scenario. She was very discreet at times when I was having a touching moment with my husband or mom (and she took some incredible pictures for us that I didn't even notice her taking at the time), yet I knew she was there making sure they too were taken care of and looking to their own needs, and that she was monitoring to see if I needed her to jump back in. She was also crucial at a key moment at the very end of labor - she coached me through pushing out Rosie's shoulders and body when I just wanted to rest and have it be over. I remember her telling me ahead of time that while she is quiet, she is not afraid to use "mom voice" when it is needed, and that is exactly what she did. I attribute so much of our positive birth experience to Jasmine and I cannot recommend her strongly enough.
