Working with Noshaba was by far the best preparation for birth, for myself and my partner. If you're looking for someone who balances evidence-based care with safe, supportive, and respectful environment, Noshaba created that for my family. The first time she asked about my goals and advised me on my birth location options based on wanting to have an unmedicated birth (I chose the birth center of chicago). It was incredibly helpful to have her guidance and years of expertise in the Chicago area when I was making that choice.
We met with Noshaba four or five times in our home where we had an incredibly comprehensive overview of childbirth. We went over everything from early to active labor and pushing, and discussed how my partner could support with hands-on assistance. In the weeks before I gave birth I felt confident, supported, and informed.
Where Noshaba really shined was during labor. She was the first phone call and text I made when I started noticing contractions, and from that moment on she was incredibly responsive - immediately texting or calling back whenever I had questions. As I progressed through early labor she encouraged me to rest, and as I progressed in active labor met me at the birth center. She offered numerous positions to labor in, offered hands-on assistance like counter-pressure that helped me ride the waves of contractions, and helped us afterwards with latching for breastfeeding. And so much more!
I am so grateful for the birth experience that I had and a huge part of that was due to Noshaba. Her guidance and support were invaluable, and I could not recommend her enough.
