Hannah was an incredible addition to our birth team! With our families 15+ hours away, my husband and I knew we wanted to build a team around us to help our home birth go as smoothly as possible. After interviewing several doulas, we knew Hannah was the one for us right away. Hannah is incredibly warm, thoughtful, intentional, and helpful. In our pre-labor visits, it was clear that Hannah was individualizing our meetings to us, our needs, our questions, our goals, etc. Those meetings were super helpful in building our confidence and helping us prepare for our home birth, especially being first time parents. As helpful as those meetings were though, Hannah was even more of a rock star when I went into labor! She arrived at our birth extremely fast and was by my (and my husband’s) side constantly. I am convinced my labor would not have been as smooth and ideal had I not had her! She was there to help me through contractions with confidence, regularly encouraging me and offering counter pressure as needed. She also kept me hydrated and cooled down. She was exactly what we needed without being “too much.” It was important to me and my husband that we had a doula who was a good balance: hands on enough without being too heavy of a presence, and Hannah was just that. She was very attuned to my needs and I felt incredibly supported and respected by her every step of the way. My prayer is that when baby #2 comes along, Hannah will be available to be our doula again!
