We had a truly fantastic experience with Liza during my third trimester, prolonged labor, and initial weeks postpartum. Her extensive experience, knowledge, and passion for her work came through in every interaction we had with her which was invaluable. I loved our experience with her and would recommend her as a doula to anyone, especially first time parents like us who feel intimidated in the journey to becoming parents.
Leading up to labor, we had multiple meetings with Liza to talk through what we wanted from our labor experience. She was a deep well of knowledge and ensured we had a full perspective to be able to build a birth plan that worked for us.
I could not imagine going through the prolonged, intervention heavy labor that I had without Liza. She advocated for me and kept my husband and I grounded through the 40 hour process — not to mention created the most soothing environment in the hospital room.
Initially our focus when we hired Liza was to have support during labor, but her postpartum support was equally invaluable in us finding our footing as newborn parents with limited baby experience. Those early weeks are so hard to navigate, more so when you have a baby who’s having difficulties latching. Liza’s calming presence, emotional support, and practical advice helped us build confidence in those early weeks which I will be eternally grateful for.
