As a husband, I can’t express enough how grateful I am for Rachel and the role she played in both of our children’s births. This was our second time working with her, and it only reinforced how invaluable she is. Birth can be intense and unpredictable, and as a husband, you want to be supportive—but it’s easy to feel unsure or helpless in the moment. Rachel changed that for me.
From pregnancy through labor, her calm, confident presence helped me feel more prepared and grounded so I could show up fully for my wife. She answered questions, helped us prepare physically and mentally, and never made us feel like we had to follow a certain script. She simply empowered us with knowledge and respected our choices—something that’s incredibly rare and meaningful.
During labor, Rachel’s support gave me the space and confidence to be present and engaged. She reminded me what was helpful, when to step in, and when to just hold space. She helped us labor at home until my wife was already 7 cm, and then supported us through a fast, intense delivery at the hospital. I was able to be emotionally available for my wife, instead of overwhelmed by everything happening around us, because I knew Rachel had our backs.
She was hands-on—offering counter pressure, holding my wife’s leg while pushing, and helping us advocate for what we needed. She even remembered how helpful a mirror had been during our last birth and made sure one was brought in again, which made all the difference. She took photos, encouraged us both, and stayed fully present the entire time.
Rachel’s support didn’t just benefit my wife—it made me a better support person too. I’ll always be thankful for the way she helped me step into that role with confidence and peace.
