I am a Japanese woman who came to Kansas from Japan two years ago because of my husband's work and I do not speak English well. And after the experience of giving birth to my first child, I was very afraid of giving birth.
I was happy to find out that I was pregnant, but I was also very anxious.
But every time I met with her, she would put my fears to rest. I was nervous about even one message because my English is not good, but she responded right away and carefully explained the next steps to take. And at our first meeting, to my surprise, she even prepared the materials in Japanese so that we could read them as well. This was an impressive event for me because I had not expected such detailed attention to detail.
When I asked her about something I didn't understand while attending the hospital, she responded immediately. When I was overdue and had to schedule an induction, she calmly gave me advice, and as a result, I was able to have a natural birth this time.
Even at four in the morning when the contractions started,she responded right away and took away my anxiety. Even when I was messaging her, I couldn't wait to meet her and feel at ease. She calmed me down during the birth, as I was in a hurry anyway, and I did the exercises as advised, so the birth was over in no time and a happy time awaited me. This experience changed my impression of childbirth to a very positive one.
And at the postpartum interview, they had prepared a record of the birth process that was like a documentary novel. I was touched by this unexpected gift. I am now looking forward to reading it with my son when he is older.
