Mairi was a wonderful doula who made a huge difference in our birth and postpartum experience. She helped us prepare well before the birth, signing us up for Intentional Birth classes, giving us helpful worksheets to guide us through each stage of labor, and offering hands-on practice so my partner could confidently support me during contractions. She recommended optional books to read, taught us how to tie a Moby wrap before the baby arrived (which turned out to be incredibly helpful!), and helped hold us accountable for doing the learning and preparation we needed.
During the birth itself, Mairi was a calm, gentle presence. She supported and nudged us in ways we had talked about beforehand, keeping the energy of the birth room peaceful and encouraging. I felt much calmer having her there, and it made a real difference to know my partner was supported too.
Mairi’s care didn’t end with the birth. As our postpartum doula, she continued to support us in incredibly meaningful ways. She offered breastfeeding tips, watched the baby so I could get much-needed rest, and, most importantly, helped me process the birth experience in the way I needed. She is an excellent listener — patient, thoughtful, and truly caring.
Mairi made sure we felt supported every step of the way, from preparing for labor to navigating new parenthood. She was affordable, knowledgeable, and deeply committed to helping us have the best experience possible. I would 100% recommend her to anyone — first-time parents, hospital births, home births, C-sections, any birth journey. Having Mairi as part of our team was one of the best decisions we made.
