As first time parents we had no idea how to find a birth doula or really even what they did but our naturopath recommended we try Doula Love and we are so thankful! They matched us with a few doulas who we could meet virtually and get to know their personalities. We found Erin Stanton of Mama Strong who was amazing! I ended up needing to get a c-section and I wasn't sure how a birth doula would help if I wasn't going to need massage or get through pushing but of course she did. She translated all the medical jargon for us and gave us information we never would have understood about what was happening and what would happen next. She was like our own personal guide to this big, intense, new life event called BIRTH and I don't know what we would have done without her there.
