Being Canadian and expecting our first child, we were determined to find a doula that would match our needs. We were looking for someone to advocate for our us in the hospital and also providing evidence based supports. Susannah truly went above and beyond our expectations. From the start of our first meeting, it was clear that she was experienced and an expert in her work. She heard our initial requests and provided us with resources and frank discussions that we're vital to us having a positive birth experience. We felt immediately at ease in her presence and appreciated how much she involved not just me but my husband in the work and support. The Body Ready method resource she provides was extremely helpful for me to do at home prenatal exercises that we're accessible and really left me feeling stronger and calmer.
During my birth, Susannah’s support was invaluable in providing us with positions/movements that helped both me, baby and my partner. She was incredibly resourceful in providing my husband with guidance in supporting me in positions that I will look back on as really meaningful and beautiful part of my birth experience. I was able to have a successful vaginal birth with an epidural - all of which she supported.
We will look back on our birth of our first child with such love and joy and Susannah played a huge part in making that happen. I would strongly recommend her for any first time parents.
