Kathleen Wilson has been an irreplaceable part of all three of my births, and I truly can’t imagine bringing my babies into the world without her by my side. Each of my labors was distinctly different, and I’m certain that if it weren’t for Kathleen’s support, guidance, and expertise, I would not have had the positive outcomes I was hoping for. She’s been with us through every birth and she is a part of the family.
All of my children are IVF babies, and the moment we knew we were going to try for our third, I reached out to Kathleen to make sure she would be our doula again. There was no question. My last baby was due in April but born in February. It was a very different experience from what we had planned. My water broke at 34 weeks, and while we were originally planning a birth center birth, we ended up needing to go to the hospital. Kathleen immediately stepped in to walk me through what to expect and what questions to ask. Her calm presence and reassurance made a stressful situation feel manageable.
When labor began, Kathleen came to the hospital exactly when we needed her. Not only was she a support for me, she coached my husband and empowered him to be the best partner through labor. Her knowledge, warmth, and instinct are unmatched. Every laboring person deserves to have a Kathleen in their corner.
I will forever be grateful for the care and love she’s shown our growing family. She’s not just a doula, she’s a true gift.
