My husband and I had an amazing experience with Julia as our doula. As soon as we met her at our initial interview, I knew she was the doula for us - she immediately made me feel calm and at ease, and I knew her energy would be perfect for us. She is extremely knowledgeable and has a terrific understanding of evidence-based birth practices. She took so much time at our prenatal visits to educate us on our options and to understand our birth preferences. She also made herself available for text and phone support throughout my entire pregnancy, which was especially appreciated because I had 2 unexpected hospital visits prior to the birth of my baby. When it came time to go to the hospital for the birth, timing was not on our side and unfortunately Julia was unavailable due to illness (something that very rarely happens but can't always be avoided), and she immediately got us set up with her backup doula and took time to set up a group FaceTime call despite being ill. The backup doula ended up being amazing and we felt like rather than losing Julia, we gained an amazing new team member. Julia was very much with us in spirit during the birth - all of her prenatal support made a huge difference during labor despite her physical absence. My birth was full of twists and turns and Julia is a big part of the reason that I was able to flow through it all and have such a positive experience. We got to see her and process the birth during our postpartum visit, which was such a great conclusion to our wonderful doula journey. Im sitting with my newborn in my arms so happy to sing Julia's praises! If you're looking for a caring, warm, grounded, knowledgeable doula who will respect your wishes and be there for you all throughout your pregnancy, look no further.
