When my husband and I started our search for a doula, we knew we wanted someone with ample experience, lactation knowledge and the ability to to advocate without overstepping during birth. After meeting Jen, we knew she was perfect. Her wealth of knowledge not only helped prepare us to welcome our baby girl, it also empowered us to feel like we knew the important bits. She supported us every step of the way, sending texts of encouragement, frequent check ins and incredibly helpful zoom calls. During labor she was by our side the whole time. In early labor, Jen was texting and calling with us, answering questions as they arose and helping us understand what was happening and why. She helped me to advocate for myself which made me feel in control of my body and my birth. When she arrived at the hospital, she helped me do exercises, massaged me, and helped me make decisions. When it was time to push, she was right by my side encouraging me and guiding me. She kept me calm in stressful situations and truly helped the whole birthing process be better. After our daughter was born, Jen stayed to help with initial breast feeding which was very helpful. Two weeks later, Jen came to our home to further coach me on lactation. She taught me tricks on how to pump, breastfeed and assisted with our baby's first bath! We recieved much more information at this point as well. Jen answered all of our questions and has helped to make us feel like confident first time parents. My husband and I highly recommend Jen as a doula. She is absolutely someone you want with you for this wild ride!
