We feel truly thankful and so fortunate to have chosen Nicole as our doula for our second child. From the moment she first walked in the door for our first prenatal session, she created a warm and supportive atmosphere that was reinforced along the way by her experience and broad knowledge of the birthing process. Her understanding of all the variables—ones we can control and ones we can't!—made both of us feel more capable and ready for whatever might come our way. She was always reachable and ready with advice and insight when we needed it in the later stages of the pregnancy, and when the time came, she was on, engaging with us and with the attending nurses in a calm, clear, and helpful way. During labor, her help with positioning and labor techniques was invaluable, and she supported both of us in a way that allowed us be fully engaged where we needed to be. On top of all that, she kept a detailed record of the labor and birth, down to the minute.
Afterward, as Nicole was leaving the birth wing of the hospital to head home, one of the nurses shouted out, "You're a great doula!" She was a gift!
