Suzanne and Cari from the Dedicated Doula team were with me every step of the way before, during, and after I gave birth to my first child. They were trustworthy, knowledgeable, empathetic, and responsive whenever I encountered a stressful or uncertain situation. I could always depend on them for concise, quick guidance on topics including early signs of labor, exercises to promote lactation, diaper rash treatment, handling cluster feeding, and riding the ups and downs of breastfeeding. When needed, they also consistently recommended additional resources (e.g. lactation consultants, cranial sacral specialists) that offered high standards of service.
During labor, I felt a weight off my chest when Suzanne arrived at 3 AM and began coaching me. Her comforting presence, smooth communication with hospital staff, and quick response to my needs made me feel that my baby and I were safe in her hands. My husband, too, found that Suzanne’s presence relieved his stress while giving him plenty of opportunity to continue engaging with our son’s birth.
