The BEST decision we made as we prepared to welcome our first child. We leveraged the Maven benefit through my employer to hire a doula and our stars aligned with Judy’s. After an introductory video chat we booked Judy for our January due date and proceeded to have 2 in person visits for education and birth prep prior to delivery. We kept in touch in the meantime via text and appreciated Judy’s gentle and compassionate check ins. She supported me physically and emotionally leading up to L&D and forged an instant bond with my husband, dog and me.
Judy truly feels like a trusted and beloved family member. We went into labor at 7pm on a Thursday night and Judy remained in contact with me until we checked into the hospital at 3am. She was there once we checked in and stayed by our side through 4 hours of labor and pushing; advocating for our birth plan, helping me change positions for laboring/pushing, and working so seamlessly with the care team of nurses and doctors. The delivery room felt like a party of friends— we had music and essential oils and acupressure. She stayed with us three for a little while after birth ensuring that we got the skin to skin and lactation support we needed to start of strong. My husband, daughter and I are endlessly grateful for Judy’s physical and emotional support.
We worked with Judy for postpartum support as well and have already benefitted from her support with breastfeeding, pumping, bottle feeding and advocating for baby girl.
