Testimonial for Tonya Pearson CD(DONA)
Tonya was a pleasure to work with throughout my pregancy and on the day of my labor and delivery. Throughout my pregnancy, she was available via text and always responded quickly and thoroughly. She gave me lots of advice about resources to refer to that could help me to prepare for birth. I appreciated that she included my husband in the planning process as well.
Our sweet baby girl decided to arrive 3 weeks early. I started having contractions early in the morning (around 12:30 AM) and shortly after we texted Tonya who gave us some recommendations to make me more comfortable. Our labor progressed more quickly than we were expecting and by 2:30 AM, contractions were very consistent! At 3:15 AM, we headed to the hospital and Tonya got on the road to meet us there. I found out I was 9 cm dilated at 3:50 AM, and by 4 AM, I started pushing!
Baby girl was born at 4:43 AM, and Tonya arrived just a few minutes before baby girl was born! Although we were sad she was not able to make it in time to assist with the labor/pushing portion, when she did arrive she jumped right in, took wonderful photos, and offered me post-birth support (getting me snacks/water, putting a wet washcloth on my head, providing encouragement). We never imagined our birth story would be so speedy and unexpected, but we are thankful for how Tonya helped prepare us ahead of time and offered support when she arrived to the hospital!
