Mind Centered Birth was a dream. I would recommend her to anyone. We wanted a doula because we had to have an emergency C section with our first baby and we were hoping to have a VBAC this time. My doctor recommended Heather to me, and said that she has the highest VBAC success rates in the treasure valley. And we were able to have a successful VBAC without an epidural!! And the process was so much better this time, not that labor is ever fun or easy, but having help, and someone who really knows what they are doing to guide you through each contraction, makes everything so much better. The resources she provides, including the 4 series birthing videos were amazing. I thought that I wouldn't learn that much because this was my second birth, but actually I just learned how little I knew the first time. They dive deep into the labor process and give so much information on what to do and when. I found her so helpful, she 100% transformed my whole labor process.
The other reason we wanted a doula, was for my husband, so that he wouldn't have to be my coach (who doesn't know what he is doing either) and could instead just support me. He thought this was much better all around this time.
I was hesitant of hiring a doula to start with, but I am so so happy I did, and would recommend Heather to any of my family or friends. Also, it was so nice to have someone in the hospital to advocate for us, she knew what we/weren't were willing to do ahead of time and helped us in the hospital when pushy people wanted us to make rushed decisions. She asked good questions to the staff to make sure we were educated, and actually doing what we wanted to do.
