My husband and I are so happy to have found Laura for birth doula support. This baby was my first and I knew I wanted to receive the epidural but I wanted to try to labor on my own a bit. Once we met Laura, we knew she was going to be the right person for us. We met before the birth to review what to expect, create a birth plan, and discuss how my husband could provide support. Laura checked in on us as my due date approached and offered emotional support. Laura was instrumental in helping me achieve my goal of laboring on my own. Her comfort measures helped me work through each contraction. And when one stopped working, she was ready with another. She coached my husband on how he could support me and stepped in for him when he needed a break. I requested the epidural after a cervical check had me at 4 centimeters, and I was feeling so proud of myself. She was calm, cool, and collected the entire time. She advocated for me when I was struggling to advocate for myself - making sure I was both comfortable and informed with whatever was happening. She slowed the room down to make sure I could catch up, that was so huge for me. We are so grateful to have had Laura in the delivery room with us. I feel very positively about the entire experience, and we are so lucky to have a healthy, happy little girl.
Laura has been so wonderful with postpartum support. She was here for the first two nights home which helped us reset and catch up a little bit on sleep. She came back over on alternating nights, slowing tapering off after that. She is so patient and great with soothing our baby girl. She is super flexible with our ever-changing plans for care and always on time and ready to jump right in! Laura has been so helpful with breastfeeding and infant care questions, recommending breastfeeding support groups, lactation consultants, and mom groups. If we have another baby, we definitely would want to hire Laura again!
