Julia has been amazing for our family. About two months before our due date, I really started panicking about labor. I was having nightmares, panic attacks, I could not sleep or eat. Julia came into our lives through a mutual connection and as we say in yiddish, it was “bashert” meant to be. We had a zoom call where I divulged all my fears and anxieties. We met up a few weeks later, she helped my husband and me work through various labor positions and really took the time to hear what my husband had to say and validated his feelings, which for men, are so often pushed aside in this whole journey. While we did not hire her for the birth, she checked in regularly while we were at the hospital. We loved her pre-natal care so much we decided to have her for post-natal care as well. As brand-new parents, we were terrified and desperately needed a road map. She taught us different holds, massage techniques, burping techniques, nursing, and bottle positions. She would send us various handouts about exercising, infant development, postpartum mental health. She brought snacks and gave us various ideas about food and drink prep. She was with me when I pumped for the first time and was scared out of my mind. She always championed me and our family. I could not recommend her enough. Julia is beyond kind and compassionate with a bit of fire- just an all-around stellar human. We could not have imagined going through this journey without her and any family would be blessed to have her by their side.
