Susannah brought a warm and nurturing presence to the experience from start to finish. I was hoping for an unmedicated hospital birth and don't think I would have been able to do it without her. She always took a balanced approach walking me through my options, the literature available, and how to advocate for myself when necessary. I went beyond my estimated due date and was anxiously awaiting the arrival of my baby. Susannah helped me to stay grounded, trust my body and my baby, and understand my options in terms of induction procedures. She provided so much encouragement in the last few weeks which helped me tremendously. I am so glad I waited a bit longer to get induced because my baby came out perfectly healthy and I was able to get through my labor without medication. She was also available to me in the late evenings and early mornings leading up to my labor and on the day of my labor. I am so grateful for Susannah's fierce advocacy, expertise, and gentle presence. I tell everyone who is expecting to get a doula if possible because I believe my pregancy and labor benefitted significantly as a result.
