When I got pregnant I knew the first thing I wanted to do was hire a doula. Looking back that was the best decision I made for my birth. Throughout my pregnancy I was able to go to the doulas with any questions, concerns and updates. They were quick to respond and super informative every time! My husband and I also went to doula Sarah's birth class and it was the perfect prep class. When you're pregnant with your first baby it can feel like you have no idea what you're doing or any control of the situation you're about to experience. The way these ladies will help you understand, inform you, advocate for you and hold your hand (sometimes literally) from start to finish is a truly irreplaceable thing. They keep it real with you while helping you stay confident. My labor was about 32 hours from start to finish. The first 16 ish hours of contractions were pretty off and on. They walked me through all the things to do while I stayed home as long I possible could. When I got to the birth center I was met with Doula Bree and our team of midwives. Immediately she got me hooked up to a tens unit (loveddd) and we went from there. Bree walked me through every position change whether I liked them or not hahah. I looked straight to her whenever I had to make a choice on something because I fully trusted that she had my best interest in mind. After I gave birth I had a bit of postpartum hemorrhaging and they literally caught me on my way out of the tub and laid me on the ground. Although that's not the ideal situation the midwives handled it so calmly which helped me remain calm and Bree held my hand through it all.
I really can't imagine having gone through my pregnancy, labor or birth without this team. I am so thankful for them and will be calling them for every pregnancy I have. I can not recommend them enough, they really are the best team around.
