This is incredibly LONG overdue but I am so grateful that our family chose to include The Birth Collective for one of the most important days of our lives. My previous birth left me with some trauma. I had many questions, fears, and assumptioms even though I had already given birth. I knew what I wanted this time and I wanted VBAC support. I switched doctors, switched birth locations, and had a completely different mindset than my first. From the start, I was met with confidence, care, and general positivity. I knew they were for us. I knew that no matter what outcome this birth had, it was important to me that we had support and guidance. I was provided with resources for all questions and we felt comfortable being vulnerable in literally not knowing what we were doing. Sarah attended my birth and it wasn't the outcome I wanted so badly. But she constantly reminded me that I had done everything I could to try and it's okay to have another outcome. Because each birth is special. Sarah was an amazing support for my husband who knew how scared I was. Doulas are for BOTH parents! We were able to have Sarah in the OR room and it was incredible. She captured every precious moment I could ever imagine WHILE supporting and encouraging me the entire time. We can't thank them enough for providing us with the knowledge to advocate for what we wanted. Their support and love allowed me the strength to power through trauma I previously wanted to block out and have a new experience I never want to forget. THANK YOU!!
