I cannot even begin to express how wonderful our experience was with our doula Jessica. We first reached out to her 2 years ago when we found out we were pregnant. When we miscarried, Jess was a constant support for me, checking in on me and helping me process everything. After this experience, I knew I never wanted to go through another pregnancy without her.
When we got pregnant again, Jessica was with me through every step- checking in on me weekly and sending me helpful videos and tips for pregnancy/child birth. She was always there for the plethora of questions I had and knowing I had someone supporting and advocating for us and our birth plan preferences made my pregnancy entirely less stressful.
At my 40 week appointment, I was told I needed to be induced that day and I panicked. Once I called Jess, she calmed me down and reviewed the next steps with me. Upon arrival at the hospital, she never left our side. When contractions started, she gave me many different options for positions to labor in and this is what allowed me to labor unmedicated for so long.
I cannot express enough what a difference Jess made. When I began to panic, she calmed me down and reminded me to use low moans to work through contractions. She offered me suggestions while still allowing me to voice my own opinions and make decisions for myself which was very empowering. Jessica helped with comfort measures during labor, providing counter-pressure, massage therapy and creating a calm environment with candles and birth affirmations on the wall.
Jessica is truly one of the sweetest, most supportive and patient people I have ever met. She was absolutely everything I was hoping for in a doula and I have already recommended her to everyone I know. Whenever we are ready to have another child, Jessica will be the first person I contact because she has become more than just a doula, she is a friend and I feel so lucky that we found her.
