We had the absolute pleasure of having Sofia as our doula (nights) for one week after our baby girl was born, and she was truly a godsend! As first-time parents, we were overwhelmed and exhausted, but Sofia’s care, warmth, and expertise made all the difference.
She was incredibly gentle with our newborn and ensured my husband and I got much-needed rest at night. Every morning, she diligently sent us a note detailing how many ounces our baby drank and how many wet/dirty diapers she had, which was so helpful. She even took the time to wash baby bottles, bathe our baby, and teach us techniques for hair washing and soothing a crying newborn—skills we will carry with us forever!
When our baby developed jaundice at Day 3 and had to be placed under a bili blanket at home, Sofia went above and beyond to keep her wrapped and monitored throughout the night. Thanks to her attentive care, our baby’s bilirubin levels started improving within 48 hours.
They say it takes a village to raise a child, and Sofia was our village during that crucial first week. We only wish we could have kept her longer, but we had to return to California. We will forever be grateful for her support, kindness, and invaluable guidance during this special time in our lives.
