I met Elaine in January 2024, and a month later when I got pregnant, I knew immediately I wanted her to be my doula. Elaine is not only a dear friend, but also an incredibly gifted doula who will be at every of my future child's births. It is not an exaggeration to say that I do not think I could have gotten through my birth without Elaine and her steadfast presence. I ended up having to have an emergency induction due to potential preeclampsia complications, and Elaine rearranged her schedule to be there impromptu. It was my first birth, and I was extremely nervous (and mentally unprepared due to the Pitocin pain), but Elaine coached me (and my husband) through every moment. She is so calm, steady, and simultaneously firm with her encouragements. She reminds you of truth in absolute vulnerability and weakness, and she helps you remember that you can do hard things. Her moral support and verbal coaching reminders were a NECESSITY to me during active labor and transition. She is absolutely gifted and in working with her it is indubitably evident that she is called to be a doula; this is her purpose to help women walk through one of the most challenging, transformative, and beautiful moments of their life. I cannot recommend her highly enough. She helped transform what could have been a traumatic experience into something that was able to be overcome and transform me through that process.
