After having a traumatic birth with my first child, despite having doula support, I was immediately drawn to Marissa's trauma informed approach. Even before I officially signed on with Marissa, she willingly met with me over zoom to help me identify the hospital where I would deliver and a practitioner that would be a good fit. Throughout my pregnancy, she made herself available to answer questions and talk through concerns. During labor and delivery, she could not have been more supportive! As speed bumps came up, we brainstormed how to handle them. The result was that I was able to have an empowering birth, and was able to have a VBAC. I would describe her approach as patient centered and research-based, combined with high attunement to mom's needs. I am so thankful that I worked with Marissa, and am grateful to her for all of the work she did throughout my pregnancy and labor. I would highly reccommend her without reservation!
