After having a not so great prenatal appointment in my second trimester, where I didn’t feel listened to or known, I knew I needed to find a doula to walk along side me the rest of the way. When I first spoke with Kalista, we immediately clicked. She listened to everything I had to say about my prenatal care up til then, what I wanted moving forward, and what I hoped for with my labor and delivery. I especially loved that as different minor complications arose during my pregnancy, that made an induction a real potential for me, she was able to walk me through different options to create a birth plan as close to my original one as possible.
Looking back I am so thankful I had her with me during the labor and delivery. Kalista helped me have the unmedicated birth I hoped for and assisted with pain relief, positioning, coaching, and more. My husband was also so thankful she was able to explain to us what was going on during the entire process and why and what choices we had.
I will hands down recommend Kalista to any mom to be. She is an amazing doula and made what started as a very confusing experience, into our amazing birth story.
