I'm very much long over due in sharing my experience but it's never too late especially when it was so life changing. Towards the end of my pregnancy my Midwife reached out to birth workers in the area to help me prepare, as this was my first home birth and I was experiencing some personal difficulties. To my surprise one of those birth workers was Rachel and I couldn't have asked God for anyone better than her. Rachel is so welcoming, warm and kind hearted. The first time we spoke I felt an instant connection and that transmitted to the first time we met. When she came to my home I didn't feel like I opened the door to a stranger, she made me feel so cared for, so safe and comfortable. Truly birthwork is her calling, she loves what she does and she does it so well. We were not sure if she would be able to make my birth because the day my baby came she had another client in the hospital as well. Rachel was with me through the early stages of labor and took such good care of me, she took me to a chiropractor visit that morning and blessed my family and I with lunch. Later that evening I was in constant communication with her and she was guiding me as I moved along in my birth. Thanks to God she was available right as I was transitioning into active labor and made it to my birth. She supported me in a way I can't describe, with her words, her encouragement, physically by holding me and using various techniques to give me relief. From the time she arrived to the moment my baby came she was so attentive and made me feel so at peace yet so full of strength. Rachel is definitely living out her vocation in the work that she does and it was an honor to have her present in such an important and vulnerable moment for me. I can truly say that I have such specific moments of my birth that I won't ever forget and Rachel made those moments all the more beautiful by how she served me. Thank you Rachel for your dedication, you truly transmit love and joy in the work you do!
