I was so glad I went with Sarah as my doula! Our prenatal meetings were nice to have before the 'big day' , she and her partner Dani provided great information and education that helped me make informed choices about my birth plan and helped me set up for success for my breastfeeding journey! They were available and very responsive through text for any lingering questions I had and I felt like they were on my side regardless of my choices and provided a non-judgemental professional perspective on labour, delivery, postpartum and motherhood!
I had a very long labour and Sarah was tirelessly with me through every contraction and she stayed with me to the joyous end! She helped remind me of my wishes, offered great suggestions and was a sounding board when I needed to make some big decisions. She also encouraged me and lifted my spirits when I received some discouraging news. Sarah was a support for my husband as well, to have someone else trustworthy there to support me so he could get something to eat or take a break, knowing full well that I would be in good hands!
Sarah was also wonderful during postpartum visits, bringing me protein balls and helping me process and debrief my labour and delivery (which unexpectantly took quite an emotional toll on me). As I navigated through this journey to motherhood, it was so good to not feel alone, that there were women who have been through this and were knowledgeable in this area, a clear voice amongst all the 'noise and opinions' social media or well-meaning relatives offer. I highly recommend Sarah and Perinatal Embrace for your prenatal, L&D and postpartum support!
