Maria was such a warm, calming presence during my daughter's birth. I'm a solo parent, and decided to have a best friend and a doula as my support people during my labor and delivery, and it was such an incredible experience. Maria made me feel calm and at ease throughout labor, providing me with helpful information and offering different techniques for getting more comfortable during labor. The thing that impressed me most about her was the way that she spoke with the doctors and nurses. She advocated for me and my birth plan, but in a gentle and approachable way. She was very skilled at making my needs known tactfully and effectively. I appreciated her support before and after the birth as well - her prenatal and postpartum visits were helpful and grounding. During the prenatal visits - she asked me all of the questions I didn't know to ask myself, and really helped me think through how to prepare for childbirth and what I wanted or wanted to avoid. During the postpartum visit, I was so excited for her to see my baby girl one week after delivery; she was so supportive and sweet, and again was a wealth of helpful information. I'm forever grateful to her!
