My husband and I were recommended by our OBGYN to consider Midwest Doulas to help us through the pregnancy, labor, and delivery of our first child in February. We were so happy that Justine and her team were who we worked with. They were always very responsive and happy to answer questions or simply provide words of encouragement during the more challenging days of pregnancy. Justine took special care to walk through our birth preferences, which allowed us to realize our preference to switch to a midwife team - which was a positive game changer for our mental preparedness and expectations for labor and delivery!
During the labor period, Justine was at the ready for all of our questions and helped us time our arrival at the hospital. My water had broken early without many signs of labor, so it could have been a more confusing and stressful event for many new parents. However, we had the best resources at our fingertips with our midwife and doula teams which helped us stay fairly relaxed and get some rest at home.
Once we were at the hospital, Justine was on-call and arrived when we were ready for her to provide us more support in-person. She and our care team were absolutely incredible and helped us deliver our baby boy in a calm and safe environment. I know we’ll be having Justine join us if we decide to add to our family in the future!
