Testimonial for Brittney Belley
My wife and I were more than grateful to have found Brittney for the birth of our firstborn.
Coming from a couple that knew very little about Doula's we decided to interview a few and Brittney stood out the most: she had experience, she had a demeanour that said "I will fist-fight a Doctor for you if I need to" and more importantly, her ability to advocate for us. I was fairly skeptical at first and wasn't quite sure we would need a Doula, however, I found Brittney to be such an asset during our pregnancy that those thoughts quickly disappeared. Brittney offered her insight and recommendations that weren't overbearing and she was patient with us, while also making us feel that she is the expert in the field for a reason allowing us to feel comfortable in making certain decisions along the way.
Fast forward to my wife going into labour at the hospital and Brittney was there, every step of the way. Once she was physically at the hospital with us, the demeanour of our hospital staff in labour and delivery quickly changed to being more supportive and patient than they were without Brittney being present.
As if Brittney's support wasn't shining already, we had a slight complication upon delivery prompting our newborn to be taken to the NICU while my wife remained in L&D for a potential hemorrhage. While I was torn with who to go with, Brittney helped me make that decision by remaining with my wife for a number of hours until she was stable enough to visit in the NICU.
Post-Partum, Brittney was available for any support we needed and provided us recommendations when asked along the way.
