Kim was such an amazing presence at our son’s birth. My wife was unmedicated for pain during the whole birth and induced on Pitocin after a water break. Kim brought a perfect combination of excitement and calming energy. She decorated the hospital room and suddenly we felt like it was a home birth. She knew just what to do to calm us down and guide us through the entire experience.
She handled the hospital staff wonderfully and made sure that our birth plan and preferences were followed. Her intricate knowledge of birth and clear communication skills with the hospital staff helped us make decisions based on facts, safety, and our comfort. For example, after discussing with our nurse and Kim, we limited Pitocin increases to once per hour, which made a huge difference.
As the birth became more intense, she was right there with my wife the whole time and was a massive help to me as well, making me feel more confident in everything and alternating with me on applying back counter-pressure. She was there for us throughout everything.
In the end my son’s birth was such a magical and spiritual experience, which we credit to Kim's support and expertise. I never knew that birth could be so beautiful.
