I had the best experience with Elena as an overnight doula in the first two months of my sons life. Hiring her was the best thing I did for my own physical and mental health. She came two nights a week for the first two months. While she was with us her primary job was to care for our son - she brought him to me to breastfeed, and then would collect him to take care of diapering, soothing, and helping him stay asleep. While I was breastfeeding she did our laundry and cleaned our kitchen. Getting this help in the early days of postpartum helped me immensely, I wish everyone could have an Elena in the tender first days of motherhood. She has a soft and nurturing presence, and I never felt like I had to host her in our space.
