I knew I wanted physical and emotional support for my first birthing experience but I had little knowledge about doulas. I had my mind set on a natural unmedicated birth so it was crucial to find someone who would help me achieve that. I had a first lovely chat with Christin who walked me through the whole process and immediately put me at ease. I felt instantly how authentic and kind she is. The doula available for my due date was Shannon and I'm convinced she was heavenly sent to me. From our first phone conversation I knew she was special and precious and she made me feel instantly at ease. Her support has only been unconditional and genuine. She went above and beyond to answer all my questions and concerns at any time of the day or night. She provided me with useful and enlightening information. She didn't count her hours and was always by my side when I needed her. During labor, her words were soothing but also encouraging and empowering. She knew when to suggest other positions, props and also help with my physical pain. She was a real advocate for me and my wishes and I always felt like she had my back and best interest in mind. Not to mention she also made sure my husband played an active part and also felt supported. She's truly a gem, and I had the best and perfect birthing experience thanks to her. I'm so happy and grateful for her and Doulas of Jacksonville!
