Elise is absolutely INCREDIBLE! From her very calm and positive demeanor to her support during pregnancy and labor, she has a true gift when it comes to being a doula. I was extremely nervous about my second labor, but Elise helped me feel more calm and in control. She checked in and was always there if I wanted to talk through anything. When it came to my labor, I don't think I would have had such an empowering experience without her. She kept in contact from the moment it started, and just knowing she was going to be there helped me feel safe and confident. Since my labor progressed so quickly, we met Elise at the hospital. I remember seeing her in the parking deck and immediately feeling a sense of relief and calmness. While my husband grabbed our bags, Elise dropped everything to help with hip squeezes right there next to the car. She was with me as I had intense contractions on my way up to the room and always seemed to say the right thing to encourage me and get me through them. After we arrived at our room, Elise worked seamlessly with my midwife as a team. She set up cozy lights and a diffuser and listened to my needs the entire time. Knowing she was there was such a game changer for my mindset. She kept the mood light and positive, which I really needed. I went into my second pregnancy terrified of giving birth again, but I left my second birth feeling so strong and powerful. I credit so much of that to Elise and her amazing support. She was there during the birth and continued her support during the postpartum period as well. She is so special to us, and we are very grateful she was a big part of our daughter's birth story. If we are lucky enough to have a third baby one day, we would be honored to have Elise as our doula again.
