My husband and I are so happy that we hired Dasha as our doula! I have a lot of anxiety, especially around pregnancy because I have experienced a previous miscarriage. We also achieved this pregnancy after a breast cancer diagnosis and via IVF, so it has been a long road for us. Dasha helped us so much in so many ways. Her childbirth classes were incredibly helpful and informative. She helped craft a birth plan with exactly what we wanted, and our OB was very pleased with it as well. She recommended some wonderful resources during my pregnancy, including a PT for pelvic floor work. Dasha was always available via text or phone, with super prompt responses which is invaluable! Our baby girl came in to the world in an unexpected and wild fashion - I had a placental abruption at 36+2 while leaving a routine OB appt, and was admitted to L&D for an emergency c-section. Dasha was there with us at the hospital within 15 minutes of texting her. She helped calm me and my husband down with positive words and reassurances and explanations of what was going to happen. After our girl was delivered, they took her to a separate table in the OR to work on her (respiratory, etc), and Dasha helped explain what was going on and that everything that was happening was normal and she was going to be ok. Without those explanations of what was happening, my husband and I would have been losing our minds with worry. She helped us in the recovery room, and checked in on us frequently. I am also very sensitive about my inability to breastfeed and she made sure to communicate that to my medical team every step of the way so that I didn't have to. She also took some amazing photos in the OR, and I am so happy to have those! Additionally, the nurses at Evergreen love Dasha - it is so important to have a good relationship between the medical team and your doula. Although my labor did not go at all as anticipated, I am so incredibly happy to have had Dasha by our side. Highly recommend!
