In my last review I ended with "I sure hope Catherine is still a doula if/when we have another child because I'll hire her in a heartbeat." And so we did!
Catherine provided the support I needed to stay calm and make good decisions during my 2.5 hour whirlwind labor with my daughter. She provided calm encouragement over the phone which helped me to not be afraid. She answered my questions which empowered me to make good decisions on the way to the hospital. She made it to the hospital before our daughter was born, and spoke affirming truths into my ear in the midst of the chaos of the nursing staff's hurried preparations. When my husband went with our baby to NICU, Catherine stayed with me and helped me stay calm and rehydrate. Her involvement has made both of my deliveries experiences that I can look back on in a positive way.
