Having Mia support us through the birth of our son was a game-changer. If/ when we have a second child, my first calls after we find out we're pregnant will be to 1. our parents and 2. to Mia to ask her to support us for a second time. Mia was calm when we needed someone to be calm, upbeat when we needed someone to be upbeat, and knew what we needed before we knew it ourselves. Her presence and support throughout our multi-day induction (36.5 weeks) was invaluable. Mia worked well with hospital medical staff (Overlake) and her familiarity with the hospital, procedures, and birth process (and options) helped us make our own decisions about what we wanted throughout the induction. Mia was supportive when I decided it was time for an epidural and didn't waiver in her support and coaching when I pushed for 4.5 hours. I'd wholeheartedly recommend Mia to anyone and everyone who is considering a doula for support during childbirth.
