Dasha is super professional, knowledgeable and supportive. She is sweet, kind, very reliable and trustworthy, and extremely helpful. This is my second pregnancy. The best thing I did during the whole pregnancy was hiring Dasha as my birth doula. Without her support, the birth process would not have been so smooth. It only took me about 3 hours from checked-in to the birth of the baby.
During the interview, Dasha made me feel very professional, which gave me a holistic understanding of doula services and made me more confident about birth.
In the first prenatal visit, she gave me a lot of useful information that I would need for the birth, such as collecting colostrum before birth, having a prenatal visit with lactation consultant, birthing exercises, app to track contractions, and sharing some items, also baby supply list, hospital bag packing list and postpartum supply list.
Before the birth, she was always there for my questions. When I started having contractions, she could tell pretty quickly that they were Braxton hicks, and suggested me to do the miles circuit. And when I had consistency and intensity in contractions with pain, she advised me to head into the birth center.
During the birth, I feel very safe with her around. She provided several methods for pain management, such as deep breathing, relaxation techniques, changing positions, massage, taking a bath, using a birthing ball, calming smells. Once I resist the pain, she was there to remind me to relax with her soft voice. When I have no strength, she will help me get food and drink when I rest. She told me what to do when I was pushing.
And in the postpartum visit, she focuses on me, including my emotions and moods, and also gave me some instructions for my issues on caring baby.
In general, if you are thinking about hiring a doula, I would recommend Dasha. You’ll have no regrets with her.
