Ryah is fantastic and I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a birth doula. As a first-time mom, I was very nervous about giving birth and knew I needed support to achieve my goal of an unmedicated (in-hospital) birth. Ryah was instrumental in achieving my goal and I would not have had the positive and empowering birth experience I had without her.
She spent time in our first meetings getting to know us and understanding my hopes for this birth and helped my husband and me create a solid birth plan. When circumstances changed and I needed to be induced at 37 weeks, Ryah helped us work with and communicate with the hospital staff to create an induction plan that would still meet my goals. During labor, Ryah was a hugely strengthening and empowering influence and helped me get through each challenge as it arose. Her wisdom, experience, and caring demeanor made it easy for me to trust her and look to her for support whenever I had to make decisions during labor. I knew that her only agenda was to support me and help me have a positive birth experience - and she succeeded!
Ryah also did a fabulous job guiding my husband through ways he could support me during labor. She fostered a sense of teamwork and my husband felt a lot more confident in his ability to be helpful and encouraging during our first experience giving birth with Ryah’s guidance.
I can’t speak highly enough of Ryah and the positive impact she had on the birth of our baby. She is a gem of a doula and a joyful person to work with!
