Joyce is a doula's doula, even other expectant doulas work with her on their births. I was so lucky to have her be my doula for my 2nd pregnancy. The moment we met I knew she was someone very special. She's warm, compassionate, caring, super knowledgeble about pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, breastfeeding, pelvic floor exercises, spinning baby, gentle birth. She's passionate about birthing, women's transition from pregnancy to motherhood, she loves sharing her expertise, she even brought a baby doll and pelvis anatomy to demonstrate what birth looks like, and showed us the kind of positions the baby could be in. My husband commented that he learned so much more this time around because of the education Joyce provided us. I had a cerclage removal at 36 weeks and she offered to come to the hospital and provide support, even though this was not part of her contract. This shows you the kind of human being she is, so very dedicated to you and be the best support to you through this huge transition. She's a great teacher, coach, and inspiration for sisterhood/motherhood. She's generous with time, patient, genuine, flexible and open minded, and she brings a lot of tools to the table at birth - essential oil, foot rubs/gentle touches, homeopathy, a sense of humor, massage ball for your hand, birth positioning. I successfully had a VBAC because of her 30+ hours of non-stop support, coaching, comfort measures, and encouragement. I've learned a tremendous amount from her before birth, during birth and after birth. I consider her part of my sisterhood and tribe now. She's a unicorn of a doula, her inner light shines so bright when she's around you.
