Hiring Lynn as our birth doula was one of the best decisions we made and has left both my husband and I feeling so great about our pregnancy and birth experience. We loved Lynn's energy - how she's both extremely nurturing but also evidence-based.
During our prenatal sessions with Lynn, she was a wealth of knowledge and was able to cater that knowledge to our specific needs, helping us feel informed and empowered. Lynn is also a certified carseat tech and spent over 90 mins teaching us how to install our carseat into her own vehicle.
Before hiring a doula, my husband and I were worried that he might feel displaced but it was the exact opposite. Having Lynn in the room freed my husband up to support me and have his own emotional experience during the birth of our daughter. Meanwhile, Lynn was doing the most impressive hip squeezes and counter-pressure, giving me affirmations and literally holding up my body weight at times, despite me being a much bigger human.
Lynn advocated for us in the hospital room, reminded us of our options and always ensured we felt listened to and affirmed in our decisions. Labour/delivery went very quickly and Lynn was right there supporting us every step of the way.
After we got discharged from the hospital, Lynn visited us at home and helped us debrief the birth. I didn't know how much I needed to emotionally and mentally walk through that experience - Lynn made that such a valuable visit.
My husband and I could not recommend Lynn highly enough. We weren't sure if a doula was right for us but we are both so glad we decided to hire a doula (so worth the money!). Lynn was absolutely invaluable both before, during and after labour/delivery. I'm so glad our birth experience was as wonderful as it was, all thanks to Lynn. You will not regret adding this incredible woman to your birth or postpartum team
